Check out how we helped celebrate the Holidays with bike building and RAOHs.

This holiday season, we brought special Random Acts of Helpfulness all over North Texas! We sent our Helpful Honda Guys out into the community to meet with hundreds of residents, to ask, “What do you need help with this holiday season?” From groceries to clothes, gifts, pet supplies, bikes, and more. We were able to help many people and make their holiday wishes and needs, come true.

We placed a big, beautiful blue Christmas Tree at the Northeast Division of the Dallas Police Department Kids Health & Safety Fair and at the local Grapevine Mills shopping mall, so that you could tell us what your holiday wish was. Victoria A., from Dallas, was surprised when we called to let her know that her mom wanted to help her grandkids with some clothes for the holidays. We sent a little help their way so they could shop at their local Target store to purchase winter clothes and essentials for the toddlers!

Paul S. from Dallas, just wanted to bring some holiday cheer to his home and surprise his six younger siblings with a real Christmas Tree. So, we met Paul and his family at the local Ruibal’s Plants of Texas to not only let them pick out any tree they wanted, but we decided to help with an additional $1,000 gift card to help them put some presents under their new tree.

Mona Z. from North Richland Hills wrote in asking for baby clothing and toys, and when we reached out, we found out that she actually requested the gifts to surprise her friend Alicia. Alicia is a single mom working two jobs just to make ends meet and Mona was worried that Alicia wouldn’t be able to provide any Christmas gifts for her kids. So, we wanted to help. We bought toys, clothes, shoes, arts and crafts, and more. We then headed to surprise Alicia at work with all the holiday gifts to put under her tree for her kids. And, to thank Mona for her helpful gesture, we gave her a complimentary dinner to a local restaurant. Thank you for helping others, Mona!

Next, we partnered with the local Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star to host our Helpful Honda Bike Building event! The group organized and recognized 20 Littles who were most in need of some holiday cheer. With the help of their Bigs, and with our helpful elves from Bike Friendly South Dallas, we built each bike from the wheels to the handle bars, and told the kids, “Thank you for helping us build the bikes. As a special surprise, the bikes are yours to keep.” We also provided helmets and bike locks to ensure the safety of the kids and their new rides.

New year – same us. More Random Acts of Helpfulness are coming, and we need your help! Know of an organization, or someone in the community that helps others? Tell us about them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and we may just surprise them with their very own Random Act of Helpfulness. Share their story at
